Review: La Tulipe Cover Foundation (Natural)

Mari kita cek performa-nya sodara-sodara.

Kemasannya, not much to say yah.

***

So far I like this product, buat mukaku yg normal-oily, dia lumayan gak minyakan dan makes my face stay matte for a whole day. Disiram air wudhu masih oke lah.

Tapi cara ini so pasti mengurangi tingkat staying power nya. Jangan lupa pake pelembab dan segala skin care routine kamu sebelum menggunakan foundie ini, otherwise bakal kelihatan dempul banget, alias cakey.

Sayangnya aku cuma pernh pake ini ke acara-acara santai, jadi belom pernah tahu hasilnya kalo diulas tebal buat kondangan. Hehehe. Mungkin temen-temen ada yang pernah pakai juga? Please share ^^

So far, here the verdicts:
  • Matte result
  • High Staying power
  • Perfect for oily skin
  • The shade NATURAL is too light for me
  • Hard to blend
  • Thick textured cream
  • Soft disturbing smell
  • Doesn't break out or oxidized, at least on me.
  • How much: IDR 25-30K approximately.

Classic Brown & Black Smokey Eyes

Black and brown eyeshadows are my favorites. They just compliments my eye shape and skin tone. This classic smokey look using those two colors is very simple yet wearable for any occassion. The key is just on the eye lashes. The bigger the falsies, the more dramatic you make a statement. Or you can simply apply mascara and leave the falsies behind for casual look.

  1. Draw your eyebrows and prime your eyelids.
  2. Apply dark brown color on your upper eyelids, all through your natural crease line. Or you can go higher.
  3. Fill your inner lids with black color. Blend.
  4. Fill your tight line with black pencil.
  5. Then frame your lower water line with black pencil as well. Apply dark brown eyeshadow on your lower lash bed then smudge.
  6. Apply mascara and falsies (optional).

One thing I love from wearing black eyeshadows on the upper lids is that you don't have to apply extra upper eyeliner, since I suck at it. Me and my trembling hands. >_<

I changed my falsies with a casual one and the effect changed in an instant.

The abused tools:
  1. Silky Girl eyebrow pencil in Brown
  2. NYX eyeshadow base (matte white)
  3. NYX single eyeshadow (black & brown)
  4. Artistry automatic pencil liner (black)
  5. Maybelline The Falsies Mascara (black)

See you on my next posts!

My Daily Makeup Routine

Hello my friends!

So today's post is gonna be a little bit different than my usual ones. Still talking about beauty of course. It's about how I do my daily makeup. I don't use too many colors to decorate my face and focus more on the skin care ingredients below those makeups. So if you're looking for bold or colorful looks like I usually write, so this article is not meant for you.

Before we get to the main part, let me introduce you to my bare face. Except for the circled lenses, that's a bare face. No edit, ya.

My skin type is normal to oily. It is not flawless. There are red and black marks, big pores around the nose, acnes, eyebags, oily, and dried sometimes. You can't see all those problems in the picture though, thanks to the sun light, it camouflaged my flaws.

Okay, let's get to the topic. Basically my makeup routine is divided into two: skin cares and makeups. We'll head on the skin cares term first. I will try to write it on sequence.

"Please notice that pictures of the products are not meant as advertising. They are merely recommendation of the ones I use. They work well for me, but might not work the same way on you"

SKIN CARE: Step by Step

Viva Acne Gel & Clean n Clear Acne Gel

After cleaning my face thourughly, I would first put on acne gels on necessary parts. If there was no acne/pimple, I would just skip this step. Pimples are usually happen during my monthly period. XD

Artistry AHA Serum Plus

Next step is this face serum. This one's my third bottle and it works quite well on my face.

After applying face serum, I would apply this drugstore item. I pressume that UV protection in BB creams are not enough to cover my skin.

One more cheap items that works well on oily skin.

Face primers

As a barrier between my skincares and makeups, I would apply a face primer. These products are meant for oily skin and I would use them alternately. TBS Pore Minimiser would be used when my face is super oily and got acnes everywhere.

Vaseline Petroleum Jelly

And finally, last but not least, prepare your lips before using lip colors by applying lip balm earlier on the process.

Okay, skin cares all set, move on to make up routine.

MAKE UP: Step by Step

Applying Base Makeup
Tony Moly BB Creams & Tony Moly CC Creams

There are many types of base makeup you can choose, either it is a foundation, BB Creams, DD Creams, CC Creams, or tinted moisturizers. I have many types of them, but these two are the items I use the most. BB creams for more coverage and CC creams for less coverage. And no, I don't use foundation. I even usually skip this step for a more natural result. I would smear it randomly around my face and blend using a triangle sponge.

Applying concealer
Revlon Photoready & Inez Concealer

These two are used alternately, depending on which item I found at first. LOL. I would apply them underheath my eyes and around my nose and blend them using a triangle sponge.

Applying face powder.

I set all those bases with a face powder using a kabuki or face brush in a circular motion. It gives more coverage and even result than a sponge can do.

Defining your eyebrows

My favorite eyebrow shape is arched and thin. I don't like the trending cute thick and flat ones because they make my face look sad. I'm not young anymore, I don't wanna look cute XD. My favorite eyebrow pencil at the time is Silky Girl in brown.

I posted a tutorial on how I draw my eyebrows here, but for everyday look I do a much easier way like this:

  1. Draw a precise line on your lower part of the eyebrow..
  2. On top of that line, draw small and short lines until your whole eyebrow is covered.
  3. Leave the inner eyebrow part natural by not drawing anything there.

A friend of mine, a makeup artist, said my whole idea of drawing eyebrows like this is completely wrong and not the kind of way to be taught in makeup lessons. But I think the correct way by drawing your whole parts is too much for me. And I love it this way, what reason do you need? LOLs.

Drawing eyeliners

Draw a very thin line on your upper eyelids only. You can choose any style you like. For me, I would just draw it like this. Very thin, and no wing. I use Mizzu eyeliner pen in black, which looks miserable already due to overly abused by me. XD

Color your lips

To compliment the whole look, add a liptint to your lips which I dab to my whole lips area. My favorite lip color at the time is TBS Lip & Cheek Stain.

***

That's it, my whole part of daily makeup routines! I do that in 10 minutes more or less.

In case you're wondering about a blusher, mascara, contouring, or eyeshadow application and did I miss that step somehow, the answer is no. I didn't miss it. I just skip those steps on purpose because I think those are too much for everyday look.

Final look and comparison:

I know my makeup is not perfect. My chubby cheeks, my eyebags, wrinkles, even my flat nose, they're still there, but only photosopped pictures are perfect anyway.

How do you do your own daily makeup routine? Or maybe, you don't have one?

Thanks for reading!

Viva Exclusive Membership Card (a Beauty Package)

Jadi dengan sangat terpaksa (yeah... right, terpaksa? Hehehe) aku terima deh.

Viva Acne Gel Triple Action. Full size.

Let's say, the right item at the right time. Udah sempet kupake sih, enaaak banget, gel nya ringan, transparan, dan baunya seger. ^0^

Viva White Clean & Mask for Dry - Fine Wringkle. Sample Size.

Produk duo function. Tapi kayaknya ga dipake dulu deh, lagi jerawatan gini. Heh...

Viva White Hand & Body Lotion with Mulberry. Sample size.

Viva White All In One Face Cleanser with Mulberry. Sample size.

Beberapa katalog Viva dan Red A, plus a notebook.

Aku baru tahu kalo Red-A masih kakak beradik sama Viva. Jadi kayak mini magazine. Notebook nya... lumayan buat catetan belanja ama resep. :D

Last but not least, my membership card. I don't know what I'm gonna do with this anyway. LOL. Hahaha. If only I can get a dollar for someone mispelling my name... Hahaha curcol.

***

Udah gitu aja ah pamernya. Makasih ya Viva Cosmetics.
Bye!

Classic Brown Cut Crease

This is the first time I ever try to do a cut crease style. Been watching a lot of tutorials, and most of them using many shades of brown to create a very nice gradient blended warm tone. But since I find it too much of a hassle, I would just skip all of those colors and making it into two shades of brown: light brown and dark brown. I think that would be much easier for a beginner like me and making this look a bit more practical for everyday use.

This look also compliments my small eyes, they appear much bigger. ^_^

How to:

  1. After drawing your eyebrows and applying eye base, draw a brown line using angled brush and brown eyeshadow on your crease area.
  2. Bring the color outside then blend.
  3. Apply a brown shade lighter than your natural skin tone, on your entire upper eyelids.
  4. Draw an outline in a shape of a thick wing line.
  5. Fill it with black eyeshadow or black eyeliner, whichever. Then frame your lower lash bed with the same color.
  6. Apply mascara and falsies (optional).

Abused tools:

NYX single eyeshadow (dark brown)
Coastal Sscents 120 original pallet (light brown)
MIZZU eyeliner pen (black)
Artistry automatic eyeliner (black)
Silky Girl eyebrow pencil (brown)
Ageha softlens in Midnight Black
Maybelline The Falsies mascara (black)
Unbranded falsies

Hope you like it!

Makeup Collaboration: Witches of the Darkness

Burn the witches
Don't take time to sew your stitches
Good is the thing that you favor
Evil is your sour flavor

I don't need your hate
I decide my fate
You cannot sedate
All the things you hate

Makeup collaboration again! I really wanna do a witch face but don't have the confidence to post it on my own. I don't know why.

Thanks to Rere Dini from queenalooks.blogspot.com who were willing to do it together with me, so that I finally have the courage to write this post. You should check out her page for her own version of a witch face.

My own witch is a green kinda face. I actually wanted to add extra nose and chin but failed half way through. Out of desperation, I took off those fake items and continued with my very own face. I did managed to have that classic green witch face, though.

Here are my makeup result with different lightings. It's the best effort I did, though. I must, and will, do better than this.

Enjoy!
